Re: What's your religion?
I am a christian; and simply put what pro is saying is that he views life as being revolved around acts of kindness. The idea do onto others as you wish them onto you, so worship or not he believes in the act of what goes around comes around in other words. So to worship is not the right term. What that term may be I'm not sure the closest I see is a strong belief.

Re: What's your religion?
The way i see karma is that it is a superstition. There are plenty of people in the world who do bad but do not have consequences, and vise versa. You may say well something is bound to happen sometime, if it does then that's not karma, that's probability. When you do riskier things you have a higher probability of something going wrong, but that doesn't mean karma. Good and Bad things will happen to everyone sooner or later, but it's like saying if you eat sooner or later you will have to take a crap, it's going to happen, it will just happen sooner for some people. Also if the only thing of Buddhism that you believe in is karma then that isn't saying much, because other religions believe in karma too. (I'm not trying to offend you, I'm just pointing out why I don't believe in karma, and that you might not have thought about Buddhism that much before commenting.)

Irate, you're dead. Now.
I refuse to elaborate on karma, because I do bad things. I ban, kick, slap, etc, and 'karma' will come back on me, so I refuse to acknowledge anything such thing exists. In a realistic approach, karma is at best a a word in the dictionary for me. With no meaning, just like... daytime television.

Re: What's your religion?
Your using the word "karma" in order to cope with your own guilt. You feel that you need to be punished, so it comforts you that the bad things you do will have repercussions. This makes you feel like you can keep doing the bad things that you claim, because something will happen if you continue, to "balance out the equation", if you will. That's THE ONLY reason you believe in "karma" based on your comment.
In other words it gives you a false sense of security as weird as it sounds to be punished, or revert your "karma" back to 0

Re: What's your religion?
1. You didn't say that you only did bad things on the internet.
2. Your wrong, theres guilt everywhere when you do bad things.
3. If you don't feel guilt, then why are you afraid to acknowlage "karma", and why would it "come back on you"?
Never expect victory so soon into the game.

Re: What's your religion?
As to elaborate on irate, karma being guilt in a way, when you do something bad you see it as coming back to bite you in the posterior. To cope with this guilt we choose not to believe in it, so we can extinguish the guilt, or by the rules of karma do something good to even out the act that you have done. So, the fear in karma is what drives karma in the first place.

Good, except I do not believe in "Karma" at all, I believe it's probability, but i think I have explained other people's "belief" in it.

Re: What's your religion?
My point exactly, i would call karma something else like probability maybe. Keep in mind though that this is just an opinion my view shared by a few others, but not all.

Re: What's your religion?
To bring this discussion alive again, I believe that we should continue on this topic, even though this may be a tough issue for some, if we understand each other, maybe we will be able to get along better not only as clan kill, but as friends.
Hopefully this post will lead others to start thinking and as I myself have not can someone please get the ball rolling again?

i no buddhist, but, karma, evil deeds are either paid for while alive (good thing, MUCH less indemnity to pay), or when you die (dont get it paid for on Earth, pay it in MUCH time in hell)
